Help Us Support ELSC Students
Brain Circle UK is focusing its first campaign on supporting ELSC’s PhD Program in Neural Computation. This program that is widely considered to be the best and largest of its kind in the world has become a model for the education of renaissance students to master multifaceted theoretical and experimental approaches in brain sciences. These students are optimally equipped for the huge challenge facing humanity, namely – elucidating the enigma of the brain.
Brain Circle UK is seeking partners in providing scholarship support for students participating in ELSC’s PhD Program:
- A gift in the amount of £17,000 will cover tuition fees and provide a living stipend for one ELSC PhD student for one year. In recognition the scholarship will be named for the donor, and the name of the donor will be inscribed on the Hebrew University’s Wall of Founders.
- A gift in the amount of £85,000 will provide a full scholarship – covering tuition fees and living stipend – for one student for the duration of his or her study in the 5-year ELSC PhD program.
Donors of a PhD scholarship at ELSC will receive periodical reports on the progress of the scholarship recipient. By providing scholarship support for students in ELSC’s PhD program, the donor will be partnering with the Hebrew University in cultivating tomorrow’s top brain scientists.
Membership in the European Brain Circle costs £8,000 per year (with a five year obligation) and gives you access to VIP European retreats in the company of the most eminent scientists.
Your membership in the Brain Circle will make you a partner in breaking research frontiers and in curing devastating neurological diseases.
Mrs Lily Safra
“ Unlocking the mysteries of the brain depends on supporting the world’s best researchers in a premier setting that encourages effective collaboration. I am proud to be able to support such a noble cause, one that will improve the treatment and quality of life of so many patients suffering from illnesses of the brain. ”
Lily Safra, Chairwoman, The Edmond J. Safra Philanthropic Foundation
The Edmond J. Safra Philanthropic Foundation’s lead donation of $50 million launched the establishment of ELSC and continues to support this innovative center. Mr. Safra created his Swiss foundation to ensure that individuals and organizations in need would continue to receive his assistance and encouragement for many years to come. Following his death in 1999, his wife, Lily, assumed responsibility for ensuring that the Edmond J. Safra Foundation draws inspiration from its founder’s life and continues to be dedicated to his visionary beliefs.
